18.09.23 MINOR UPDATE EPIC LOCATIONS

Hey folks,

I know we've been quiet of late but that's because we're in the printing process. The books are with the printers in Poland, and they're sitting in the print queue. We've been told that the books should be printed by the end of September. 

The printed books are then shipped out to Germany, the UK, and the USA. How long does this take you might ask? To Germany, it's usually a couple of days. To the UK a couple of weeks. To the USA? The ship might leave from Poland and arrive in New York in a matter of weeks. Clearing customs in New York harbor relies on the customs officials and can super quick or a couple of weeks.  We are at their mercy.

Do we have an estimated delivery date of the hardcover book to your door? Before Christmas. that's the best we can do at the moment. We're expecting sooner but it's impossible to tell until the physical book is in a box and on it's journey. Until then, it is just speculation and based on what our previous books took.

And trust me, we're as excited to get the book as you are. If you think the PDF is beautiful, wait until the book is in your hands! 

I'll update you as soon as the books ship from Poland.

17.08.23 Its off to the printers!

Hello everyone,

What a glorious day it is today. The book is now finalized, with your help. The PDF is ready to go out - and will go out within the next 6 days, and the master print file has gone to the printers. 

What does this mean?

The printers will check the book today and tomorrow for printers problems (bleed edges, page alignments etc.). However, we're confident there will not be any (we've done many books with them before). 

Thereafter the book goes to print. When that happens is out of our control but it is usually within a month or so of the order going in. The printers just schedule a print slot and the book is printed. 

The printers then ship three blocks of books: the EU, the UK, and the USA. Those travel by the most economical routes possible to the warehouses. From there, the books ship out to you via our distribution networks. 

When will this be? 

It's impossible to give you any kind of accurate date. Shipping is just not willing to give us that info! However, we have been promised within the next 90 days. We'll keep you posted.

Thank you to everyone who wrote in with the few glitches they spotted in the ALPHA version of the PDF. Some were small, some were smaller. All have now been correct and we're very proud of this book you've helped us create.

Hey all,

CARDS CHARGED TOMORROW

The Backerkit officially closes and locks tomorrow meaning the credit cards will be billed from tomorrow onwards. Please make sure your credit card is ready and has sufficient funds. 

You will still be able to update your postal address. That will lock once the books are off to print.

PDF INCOMING!

This also means that by mid-week next week you'll get your hands on the PDF of the book! You then have 7 days to check it and give us any feedback. After that, we're sending the book off for printing!

STANDING BY

The printers have ordered the paper and are ready and waiting for final PDF master copy to arrive. They will check it and as soon as it clears their technical control it goes into print. 

OTHER REWARDS

These will be sent out once the credit cards have been cleared and processed, so expect a lot of goodies to be coming up really soon. Do not panic if you haven't received something by next week Friday, we have a lot of PDFs and things to send out to very specific people and we are but a team of 3. We will let you know once they've gone out and thereafter you can check to see if you're missing something.

ALPHA PDF IS READY

This is the part I love about Kickstarters! The ALPHA PDF is complete and ready to be sent out! There is nothing more for me or the team to do on this PDF as of this moment. 

Remember when you voted to change the cover? Well here is the final cover! A masterful blend of my artwork, Tills maps and Martian's photoshop wizardry, I'm really proud of this cover. 

WHEN DO YOU GET THE PDF ALPHA?

On the 4th of August we are charging the credit cards. This takes about a week to process. Please watch your accounts for the transaction. If you have insufficient funds it will automatically attempt again the following day. If it fails again you will be placed onto the hold list. We will reach out to you to see if we can resolve it. 

Then on the 11th of August (if all credit card issues have been resolved) you will get the Alpha PDF!

WHY ALPHA?

The printers are only expecting the final version of the book towards the last week of August. What this means is that we can get as many eyes on the PDF before we send it to print. The whole team has been through the book many, many times and things slip through. Our amazing editor Lou did an amazing job on prepping the copy, but in layout things happen. So if you read the Alpha and find something amiss you can report it to us and we have time to fix it. 

PRINT VERSIONS?

Once we lock the PDF down we'll send it to our printers in the Netherlands as a BETA version. They then go through the PDF BETA and look for any issues that might arrise in printing. We've never had issues before as Martain knows his S*%T. This usually takes a week or so, by early September the book should go to the printers. From there the printed books are shipped directly to our distribution points globally and then folks, it's to your doors!

07.07.23 Credit Cards Charged on 4th of August and more!

Hello folks!

4th of August!

On the 4th of August Backerkit will run on your credit cards. 

• Please make sure you have sufficient funds for your order.
• Please make sure you credit card details are up-to-date on backerkit. 
• Please make sure that you've finalized your orders for add-ons and so on. You have until the 14th of July to do this.

Why do we do this? Because we are nearly at the print stage!! It takes 2 weeks for Backerkit to close up the payments and charge the cards. 

Once the credit cards have been charged we will be sending the money to the printers. You'll also get the PDF around that date - once all credit cards have been charged. This is an alpha version of the PDF. We'll be using that week of release for final checks - your help is greatly encouraged here, the more eyes we have on the work, the less mistakes there are!

If you do not have sufficient funds in your credit card, Backerkit will get hold you and try to solve the issue. If it cannot get the funds from you, your order will be cancelled! In that event, you'll have to buy the books etc. via our website www.greatgamemaster.com later once the book is available there. 

Layout

Martin has done a spectacular job on the book, bringing clarity to the text in a wonderful way. Guy has been checking the master PDF and all we can say is, it's looking great! We can't wait for you to get your hands on the PDF.

Names

We've locked down the names that appear in the book. We got only a few requests to change or omit names, so thank you for responding.
