17.02.23 The Writing is on the wall...

Hello everyone,
This is just a general update for all of you. Nothing major or serious, everything is fine here...
WRITING
We have been adding in all the stretch goals that unlocked at the end of the campaign and having such a blast. What does the water of a lake in Hell taste like? How many Yeti's can fit into a glacial cave in the Underfell? So many critical questions.
We're nearing the end of our writing phase with only the heavy self editing process left to do. This is where we take the giant volume of text and cut it down into something manageable.
ARTWORK
With the book nearly locked down the artwork can begin. This is going to be one of the most difficult books to 'art' as there is so much we want to show it is hard to know what to leave out. However, we are confident that whatever we end up with is going to be awesome.
EDITING
Pontus has already begin reviewing our drafts of chapters that are locked down in terms of content and we're super excited for his guiding hand on this.
PRINTERS
Our wonderful printers in the Netherlands are eagerly awaiting our first draft so they can being the process of ordering paperstock and the like. They have printed our last two books to perfection so we have full confidence in them.
SUMMARY
Everything is green across the board. We're full steam ahead on this and cannot wait to have it finished.

Good News!
BackerKit Surveys are slowly being sent out, what this means is you will receive an email with a link to add your shipping information, as well as an opportunity to add any extra addons you may want to include in your order.
AppleID Users
If you use Apple to login into Kickstarter, your email may not be correctly linked up, if you do, please let us know and we can correctly get the right email assigned to you. You will most likely know if you do not get the survey in the next few days.

Important to know is that you will be able to update your shipping address for the next few months via this survey link, so in the case you move or you want it sent elsewhere, you can still know your book will arrive! We plan on locking the address only once we start shipping.

Also please know your payment method will only be charged when we lock down orders and are close to shipping, this will be around July/August this year, and we will update you when we do this.

Hey folks,
EMAILS with Addon Links
We sent out emails in early December 2022 with links to the addons for you to make use of, and we hope you have been enjoying them! Most of you got the email and the links.
If you did not get the email(s) - Please check your spam folder, your updates folder, your promotions folder, your 'what the heck is this' folder for an email from [email protected].
If you haven't gotten anything from us at Geeks Table (Epic Campaigns, Nautical Campaigns or Practical Guide) please send an email to [email protected] and we can get new links sent over to you.
It is important to know: you will not have received an email if you had nothing to download. If you didn't have any PDF add-ons then you won't have gotten an email.
The main PDF for the book Epic Locations doesn't exist yet. The Goblins are hard at work!
SURVEYS for BackerKit
The surveys for BackerKit have not yet been sent out. These will be going out in January. Why January? We have to wait for 2023 shipping rates to be finalised before we can open Backerkit. Once that's done we'll send out surveys and post an update with all the details you need here!
In the surveys you will be able to add addons, set your delivery address, as well as another way to download existing addons that you added during the Kickstarter.
We know you're all super excited for your books, and we want to ensure an amazing book reaches your hands, this unfortunately takes a bit of time as well as telling the goblins to stop taking Dragon rides during their tea breaks, however the book is coming together beautifully and we are excited by the progress so far and are on track.

09.01.23 Minor Updates and the D&D OGL issue

Hello everyone!
Happy New Year. We're back writing in the final stretch goals and I, personally, am loving the book as it stands. This update is just a little well... update.
Add-Ons
In November we have sent out codes and access links to those who have added PDFs and DungeonFog access as addons. There are still some backers who haven't responded (eg. DungeonFog Lifetime). In case you have missed the email, reach out to us and we will deal with your request asap.
ONE D&D OGL
Some of you may have been tracking the One D&D OGL updates and 'leaks' etc. As sad as this might be for the future of that particular roleplaying system, our books are totally system agnostic. In Epic Locations (to use it's short name) we have tables packed with encounter ideas - not stat blocks. The OGL is not applicable to us at all. You can, and we hope you will, use Epic Locations to enhance your D&D game but ours is an inspiration and reference guide only. So no matter what happens with OGLs now, or in the future, Epic Locations is safe!
TIMELINES
At the writing of this update everything is on track. Printing remains a constant challenge in terms of paper availablility but everything else is still ticking along - even though we took an xmas break! More updates to follow as soon we have anything more for you folks!

26.11.22 All clear and what now?

Hello all,
PDFS
Thank you for your patience. We too have had to be patience. We got news just yesterday that the funds were clearing into our account from the KS campaign. Why is this important? Well it means that we can now begin to compile the survey and the PDF rewards for you.
Over the course of the next few weeks we'll finish up the survey (for those of you who do not know, we are only allowed by KS to send out a single survey so we must make sure it contains all the relevant information). As soon as those surveys are complete (this is up to you folks as to how long you take) we can release everything that needs to go.
WRITING
Now that the KS is closed, Till and I (Guy) have been outlining the additional content to be added to each of the chapters as well as reworking the existing material to accommodate this. Till and I will be sitting next week together in the UK (he hosted me in Austria when we conceptualized the book, now it's my turn) to finalize the additional content and then it's on to writing, rewriting, and more rewriting.
We're still on track for our timelines, and we're both super eager to get stuck in!
ARTWORK
We've already begun to look at the artwork we need, now that we've closed the KS and the stretch-goals are complete. Watch this space cause I'll be sharing some with you in the near future!
The cover is still a WIP (work in progress). I've submitted some new ideas to the team, based on your suggestions and feedback. We shall see, and once again, I'll keep you posted!
